White Dots Blouse

More than two months after my lastest post, I'm back with a finished project! Actually, this blouse had to be finished before Christmas, but I didn't have time and I gave up. Some weeks ago, I decided to complete my already started garments and use fabrics from my stash before buying new ones. So I finished this blouse. The pattern is from Burda, model #108 from August 2013.

Després de més de dos mesos des de la meva darrera entrada, torn a ser per aquí amb un projecte acabat! En realitat, aquesta brusa havia d'estar llesta abans de Nadal, però no vaig tenir temps i la vaig acabar abandonant per la frustració. Fa unes quantes setmanes, vaig decidir acabar projectes començats i utilitzar teles que ja tenc abans de comprar-ne, així que acabar la brusa era qüestió de temps. El patró és de la revista Burda, model #108 d'agost de 2013.

What caught my eye was the neck tie and the pattern was quite simple, so I couldn't avoid making it. I just made few adjustements: make the sleeves thinner (they're huge in the pattern) and the beyhole longer.  Now, I would have made the cuffs tighter too, but general result is a lot better than the first shirt I ever made.

El que me va cridar l'atenció és la llaçada del coll, i ja que el patró era senzillet, no vaig poder evitar cosir-lo. Els únics ajusts que he fet han estat estrényer les mànigues (eren enormes) i allargar el xap del coll. També hauria estret els punys, però el resultat general és molt millor que la primera camisa que vaig fer.

Also, the button holes are handsewn and they look really neat (I had several problems with the sewing machine when I had to make the button holes in other garments...). It's the first time something turns out that well and I'm sure I'll wear it (in a family lunch I have in two weeks, hahaha). I'm so motivated and can't wait to start my next project!!

A més a més, els forats dels botons estan cosits a mà i han quedat molt bé (en altres projectes havia tengut problemes amb la màquina de cosir i aquesta vegada ni ho volia provar...). És la primera vegada que una peça de roba me queda tant bé i estic seguríssima que la duré aviat (a un dinar familiar d'aquí dues setmanes, hahaha). M'ha motivat molt i no puc esperar a començar el pròxim projecte!!

Sewalong - Leggings by Masustak

Well, I'm back with the result of a sewalong hosted by Masustak eguzkitan: a pair of leggings made with a self-drafted pattern.

Eeeis, m'heu enyorat?

Avui torn amb el resultat d'un sewalong o cose conmigo (en català supòs que deu traduir-se com "cus amb jo" o alguna cosa per l'estil) organitzat per Masustak eguzkitan: un parell de leggins a partir d'un patró dibuixat per nosaltres mateixos.

They are sooo easy and quick to make and I'm gonna sew more of them, once I solve some problems I had with them... The fabric I used is not very strecthy, so I only reduced my measurements a 5% and the fit is quite good on the legs, but there's a horrible wrinkle in the crotch D: Also, the waist is a bit low in the back and too loose...

Són molt fàcils de fer i estic segura que en cosiré més una vegada hagi solucionat uns petits problemes... La tela que vaig comprar no era massa elàstica, així que només vaig reduir les mides un 5% i s'ajusten perfectament a les cames, però hi ha una arruga horrible a l'entrecuix D: A més a més, la cintura és massa baixa per darrere i massa ampla...

Boxy Pencil Cases - Christmas Gift

Bones festes a tothom!
Avui mostraré el regal de Nadal dels meus cosins petits: un estoig ben gros perquè hi puguin ficar tot el que necessitin per anar a classe.

Today I'm gonna show you the Christmas presents I made for my little cousins: big pencil cases they can fill with everything they need at school.

Després d'haver-los cosit seguint aquest tutorial, me'n vaig témer de que eren més grossos de l'esperat. Però han quedat molt bé i m'estic plantejant fer-ne més per regalar o per jo mateixa.

When I finished sewing following this tutorial, I noticed the pencil cases were huge, bigger than what I expected. Anyway, they look great ant I plan to make more of them to give as gifts or for myself.

Tenc alguns projectes a mig fer que esper enllestir abans que acabi l'any i poder mostrar aviat. Bon Nadal ;)
I also have some projects I want to finish before the end of the year, I hope I can show them soon. Merry Christmas ;)

Pink Dolman Top - Birthday Gift

La peça d'avui és una camiseta que fa molt que està cosida, però ha costat fer-li fotos (sobretot perquè és un regal per algú altre i no m'afavoreix gens). El patró és molt senzill, la camiseta de la revista Burda #113 de setembre de 2013, la tela és un punt elàstic de color rosa que també té algunes puntades blanques.

Today's garment is a top I sew a long time ago, but it took me ages to take a photo of it (mostly because is a present for someone else and it look horrible on me). The pattern was so easy to sew and it's from Burda, model #113 from September 2013, the fabric is a pink jersey with some white (it's a bit hard to explain...).

El regal és per l'al·lota de mon pare, que va fer els anys fa uns dies. El principal problema va ser que no sabia la seva talla, però és una dona petitona i mon pare i jo vam pensar que li agradaria aquesta camiseta (li vaig fer algunes modificacions).

The gift is for my father's girlfriend, whose birthday was some days ago. The biggest problem was I had no idea of her size, but as she's a petite woman (I guess), my father and I though she would like this top (I made some modifications).

Ella encara no ha vist el regal, però esper que li agradi molt (també esper poder cosir més cosetes, tenc un munt de projectes pendents!!).

She hasn't seen the present yet, but I hope she likes it (I also hope to have more time for sewing, I have lots of awaiting projects!!).

Blue Top - Oriental Dance

Avui venc amb un projecte que em va preocupar bastant: un vestit de dansa oriental. La primera idea era fer-lo tot, però al final vaig decidir aprofitar un mocador blau, comprar una falda i fer el top. Al principo, volia fer un top que deixàs la panxa a l'aire, però que no fossin uns sostens perquè no m'agrada anar tant destapada. El patró Burda #115 d'abril de 2013 era perfecte per això!!

Today, I'll write about a project that worried me quite a lot: an oriental dance outfit. At first, I wanted to make it all, but I ended up using a blue sash (I don't know how to say it... I mean the fabric with beads or coins used in oriental dance), buying the skirt and making the top. The first idea for the upper part was somethink like a crop top, as I don't like to wear just a bra because I feel naked. Burda pattern #115 from April 2013 was perfect for that!

Per la tela vaig comprar creppe blau (o com s'escrigui) al Ribes i Casals de Palma, una tenda enorme on pots trobar pràcticament de tot!
Cosir el patró va ser molt fàcil, només vaig modificar una mica l'escot perquè alguns comentaris deien que es veien els sostens. Al final vaig comprar una tira amb serrels blau a Ribes i Casals mateix i ho vaig cosit al top (també tenia comprada pedreria blava per posar, però hauria dut molt de temps per cosir-ho). El top es tanca amb gafets a un costat perquè trob que queda millor que davant.

For the fabric, I bought a blue crepe (or whatever it's written) at Ribes i Casals, in Palma (it's a huge store where you can fins nearly everything for your sewing projects!)
The sewing part was easy, I just modified the neckline because there were comments saying the bra showed up. Finally, I also bought blue fringes at Ribes i Casals and I handsewed it to the top (I already brought blue beads for the top, but it would have taken a lot of time to sew that...). The top has a side closure with hook-and-eyes.

Aquí teniu una foto amb el vestit complet per un casting que vaig passar per poder actuar. No el vaig guanyar, però va ser una gran experiència i vaig poder actuar en públic per primera vegada amb les meves companyes de classe.

Floral Pleated Dress

Buff, mira que fa temps que no actualitz el bloc... L'entrada d'avui va sobre la primera peça de roba que faig per una altra persona (la meva cosina), el model Burda #112 de febrer de 2013! És un vestit preciós i fàcil de cosir, el més complicat són els plecs, però també és bastant mecànic i els pots fer tots d'una tirada.

Damn it, the last entry is so old... Today's entry is about the first garment I sew for someone else (my cousin), Burda pattern #112 from February 2013! It's a fantastic and easy to sew dress, the most difficult thing are the pleats.

Pel pit i la cintura vaig agafar la talla 19 (que equival a la 38) i la 20 pels malucs (equivalent a la 40), he de dir que per ser la primera vegada que faig una mescladissa de talles, va quedar bastant bé i el vestit llueix molt! També vaig allargar una mica els baixos perquè és una al·lota alta.

Size 19 (equivalent to 38) was used for bust and waist and size 20 (equivalent to 40) for hip; even if it was the first time I merge sizes, it turned out pretty well. I also lengthened the hem a bit as she is quite tall.

La tela que va triar queda molt bé amb el model i com a dada curiosa, el vestit també me passa a jo, però no em queda tant bé xD

This is the gorgeous fabric used and as an extra fact, I can wear the dress too but it look much better on her xD

Whale Bag - Birthday Gift

Avui toca parlar de la darrera creació: una bossa de tela amb la silueta d'una balena com a regal d'aniversari. Ella encara no l'ha vist (fa els anys demà), però esper que li agradi (també hi ha un altre regalet, un retrat seu).

Today, I'll talk about my last creation: a fabric whale bag as a birthday gift. She hasn't seen it yet (her birthday is tomorrow), but I hope she likes it (there's also another gift, a portrait of her).

La tela és vichy i la silueta de la balena, un retall de tela que tenia (al final el color destaca poc, però no hi vaig caure al seu moment...). El més complicat de tot va ser calcular el cordó que necessitava, primer en vaig comprar massa i després, massa poc (entre poc i massa, sa mesura passa).

The fabric is vichy for the bag and cotton for the whale (it was on my stash, but I should have chosen a darker colour, this one doesn't stand out enough...). The hardest part was to calculate the cord I needed, at first I bought too less and at the end, too much.
